The most recognized swimming pool cleaning, repair, and renovation franchise system in the nation makes a difference in fundraising to provide a source of clean water for hospitals in underserved communities
November 13, 2020 // Franchising.com // Macon, GA – America’s Swimming Pool Company (ASP), the nation’s best-known pool cleaning, repair and renovation franchise, today announced the ASP Gives Day fundraiser in partnership with OneWorld Health known, this will take place from November 17th to 19th. To provide clean water to healthcare in developing countries, ASP partnered with OneWorld Health in 2017 to support the cause through its annual Clean Water Matters initiative – ASP Gives Day.
The local ASP franchisees are committed to making significant improvements for those who do not have access to clean water. They take part in a number of challenges on the Virtual Field Day by making donations to the cause for each event they attend. The sites will be split into two teams and compete in competitions between the East Coast and West Coast. Followed by the series of events from November 17-18, such as the fastest mile run and the longest plank, the teams will compete (virtually) against each other on November 19 to publicize the final event – tug of war – cash donations for the Collect Clean Waters Matter movement.
“As a nationally recognized pool service provider, we are committed to being clean water advocates and educating the public about the importance of clean and safe water,” said Stewart Vernon, COO and founder of America’s Swimming Pool Company. “Since our partnership with OneWorld Health, we have raised over $ 50,000 for the Clean Waters Matters initiative and we look forward to increasing that amount on this ASP Gives Day.”
America’s Swimming Pool Company has been committed to clean water since its inception in 2002 and has taken responsibility for improving the world we live in. Both ASP and OneWorld Health believe that the country of birth should not determine whether they have access to basic health care. Since 2017, ASP and OneWorld Health have partnered to bring clean water to health care systems in developing countries.
The partnership combines ASP’s expertise and culture with OneWorld Health’s proven success in international healthcare to provide clean water to medical facilities in needy communities today and for generations to come. Since opening the first sustainable medical center in January 2011, OneWorld Health has been transforming healthcare in developing countries one by one. OneWorld Health is a sustainable approach to health for developing countries.
“We have a natural focus on ASP which is why we decided to partner with the brand in 2017 to support the Clean Water Matters movement,” said Dr. Ed O’Bryan, Co-Founder and CMO of OneWorld Health. “Together as a team, we hope to further raise awareness of the underserved communities in East Africa and Central America by providing high quality, affordable health care.”
Clean water is essential to human life. Over 780 million people do not have access to an improved source of water, and 5 million people die each year from diarrhea as a result of unsafe drinking water, inadequate water availability for hygiene, and lack of access to water for sanitation.
